A Legacy of Friendship & Mentorship Across Generations: Introducing Lilium, LLC and their Landmark JV Win

At 25 years old, Jordan Rosenbaum was successfully managing multiple Joint Venture teams executing complex federal environmental services contracts for some of the biggest and well-known agencies across the country.

In this capacity, she dove into leading complex financial and project coordination, such as preparing and submitting invoices, summary reports to project managers, tracking deliverables, and strategically supporting and executing field monitoring activities.

Today, as CEO and President of Lilium, LLC, she is dedicated to managing the entire business and owns Lilium’s marketing, administrative, accounting, and project management functions. Jordan supports several teaming partner contractor companies with Joint Venture related administrative tasks in the office and in the field to complete environmental consulting projects.

Jordan, who studied Marketing and International Business from the College of Charleston, credits her professional jumpstart and steady growth as a leader and the company founder of Lilium, LLC, to Seres Engineering & Services, LLC President & Founder, Alex Lo.

Before the Lilium-SERES Joint Venture became a reality in 2023, it was true friendship that was the basis and the catalyst for a series of events and business outcomes as endearing as they are impressive.

Years ago, Alex Lo worked with Ken Rosenbaum, at the same environmental company starting in the year 2000 while his young sons, Connor and Alex were coming up. Jordan, who is Connor’s wife, shares that the boys basically grew up in the office, running around while the adults tried to get work done. And honestly… not much has changed. These days, they’re still running in and out of the SERES office. Just with slightly bigger shoes!”

Following in his father, Ken’s footsteps, Connor pursued a career in the environmental industry. He graduated from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Civil/Environmental Engineering and joined SERES as his first job out of college in 2016. Connor got his feet wet on SERES’ longstanding, most iconic project, Robins Air Force Base in Georgia, where he first started working as a pollution prevention engineer for the maintenance support, environmental and engineering group. Project related tasks included management of energy, environmental compliance, pollution prevention, ergonomics, corrosion, and groundwater sampling related project efforts associated with the facility. This project helped lay a foundation for success in managing staff, executing deliverables, and coordination with government compliance.

That year, Connor brought Jordan to the SERES company Christmas party; there was an instant entrepreneurial meeting of the minds, and from there, no turning back!

Jordan recalls that somewhere between the holiday cheer and shop talk, Alex dropped a hint to us that one day, we should go after an 8(a) ourselves.”

Lilium, LLC is a certified Small Business Administration 8(a) and Economically Disadvantaged Woman Owned Small Business (EDWOSB), Women and Minority Business Enterprise (WMBE) established in 2013. Headquartered in Charleston, South Carolina, Lilium began as a landscaping company providing grounds maintenance and home improvements for various commercial and residential clients. Today, Lilium provides professional environmental and engineering consulting services to government agencies and commercial clients. Lilium is on a mission to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions that protect communities, strengthen infrastructure, and promote sustainable growth.

Lilium has been a subcontractor to SERES since 2020, and the companies have worked on various environmental engineering, compliance, consulting, remediation, and facility support projects together. Lilium has supported SERES with efforts across the United States with a focus in air monitoring, lead-based paint abatement, sediment and groundwater monitoring, waste removal, and tank inspections and removal services. As a Joint Venture, they realized a longtime goal in 2025 when the JV received the Chemical Issuance and Waste Management contract award supporting the U.S. EPA—the teams’ first federal contract.

Jordan says, I’m deeply grateful for SERES. Alex Lo and members of his team have played a huge role in shaping who I am today: the experience, mentorship and challenges I have encountered have helped build the foundation for the leader I strive to be.”
